Hole-In-One

Austin Stoddard carded his first hole-in-one during Conewango Valley Country Club Men’s League event on Thursday. The shot took place on No. 5 from 130-yards, witnessed by Dr. Ray Johnson, Kris Anthony and Bob Rouche.

At Jackson Valley Golf Course, there was a hole-in-one during the Fourth annual V-Strong Golf Scramble on Saturday.

Mike Stefaniszyn scored the hole-in-one on the 135-yard 12th hole with an 8-iron. The hole-in-one was his second of the year.

Golf Leagues

WARREN, Pa. — Skete Williams and Matt Johnson both had a low gross of 33 to lead the A Flight in the Jackson Valley Golf Course Monday Night League. Nick Wilcox and Jordan Basile both had a low net of 33.

The pair of Mark Silvis and Jeff McClement led the B Flight with a low gross of 33 and the duo of Fred Backhus and Ron Irwin matched it. The low net was also 33 by Bub Michaels and Vince Feeny.

RUSSELL, Pa. — Rod Korbar fired a 39 for low gross and Bob Garrison shot a 32 for low net to highlight action in Week 15 of the Friday Men’s Senior Golf League at Cable Hollow Golf Course.

Hank Mole recorded the most points for the week (8.5); Al Schumann has the most points for the season (71); and Mole, Will Avery, Bob Orbanic, Bob Wolfe, Jim Leaskey and Pat Black had the most pars (five apiece).

Golf tournament

The Women’s Care Center of Warren County Born to Golf Tournament will kick off with a shotgun start at noon, Monday, at Conewango Valley Country Club.

There are still spots available for individuals and teams.

Jones Chevrolet is sponsoring the hole-in-one prize. Other contests within the event include a putting contest, closest to the pin, and longest drive. Up for grabs are mulligans and skins.

The event benefits Women’s Care Center services provided free to the community.

The entry fee is $360 per team of four. Individual golfers – $90 – may register without a team. That includes the golf, cart, lunch and dinner. Those only interested in joining for dinner may do so for $50.
