Konnor Eck, an eighth-grader in the Youngsville Middle/High School League at Valley Bowling Center, qualified at the district level tournament in Erie to advance to the Pennsylvania state tournament in Lancaster. Bowling against 12 other bowlers, Eck finished first.
Steven Rex, a fifth-grader at Youngsville Elementary School who bowls in the Saturday Strikers League at Valley Bowling Center, also advanced to the state tournament by finishing second against 12 other bowlers in his division in Erie.
Both boys were awarded scholarships and will be competing for additional scholarships this weekend.
