Career-high 32 from Childress paces Dragons on Friday

WEST SUNBURY — Junior Riley Childress scored a career-high 32 points as Warren beat Moniteau, 59-45, in nonleague girls basketball Friday.

Childress scored 15 points, including four 3-pointers, in the first quarter as the Dragons took a 19-13 lead.

Warren led 31-19 at halftime, but Moniteau used a 19-12 third quarter to pull within five heading into the fourth quarter.

In the final eight minutes, Emma Ruhlman went 8 of 8 from the free throw line and scored 11 of her 21 points for the Dragons as the outscored the Warriors, 16-7.

Childress also handed out four assists while Ruhlman had 10 rebounds and six assists. Halle Kuzminski grabbed seven rebounds.

Catherine Kelly led Moniteau with 19 points, including four 3-pointers, and Ashlyn Pry had 13 points.

DRAGONS COAST PAST MEADVILLE

MEADVILLE — Emma Ruhlman scored 22 points and Riley Childress added 16 as Warren beat Meadville, 57-13, in nonleague action Saturday afternoon.

The Dragons led 27-13 at halftime before shutting out the Bulldogs in the second half.

Gracie Ruhlman had 8 points and Sammie Ruhlman added 6 points and six rebounds while Teagan Paris had 5 points and eight rebounds in the victory.

Emma Ruhlman grabbed 10 rebounds while Childress had six assists and five steals.

EISENHOWER FALLS SATURDAY

RUSSELL — Three players scored in double figures as DuBois Central Catholic trimmed Eisenhower, 54-35, on Saturday.

Kayley Risser led the Cardinals with 18 points while Faith Jacob added 14 points and Paris Farley had 11.

Delaney Chase led the Knights with 10 points and eight rebounds. Lilly Smyth had 9 points and eight rebounds while Mackenzie Dunn chipped in eight rebounds and four steals. Kaitlin Sleeman chipped in three assists while Bella Marino led the way defensively for Eisenhower, blocking two shots and drawing three charges to go along with 7 points.

DuBois Central Catholic led 16-11 after the first quarter and saw its lead grow to 12 by halftime.
