Warren sweeps Oil City in Region 4 volleyball

Hannah Shattuck had five kills and six digs as Warren swept Oil City, 25-12, 25-16, 25-13, in District 10 Region 4 girls volleyball Tuesday.

“It was a good team win,” Warren head coach Mike Dolan said. “We served well with 19 aces and we were able to control the ball pretty well transition.”

Katie Madigan added 15 digs and five aces while Halee Mineweaser chipped in 24 assists, two aces and two kills for the Dragons. Jordan Sitler had 10 kills, two blocks and three aces; Olivia English had four aces, a kill and a block; Ellee Irwin had three kills and two digs; Kylie Fehlman had two kills; Cara Munksgard had two kills and an ace; Jayna Baldensperger had two kills, four digs and an ace; Isabel Wortman had a kill, a dig and an assist; and Carly Beers had four kills, a dig and a block. Lauren Dolan also had three aces, a dig and an assist for the hosts.

“We got the ball to our attackers where 10 different players registered at least one kill,” Dolan said. “We have a big region game Thursday at Maplewood where we will have to continue to compete at a high level as we are still fighting for a shot at playoffs.”

In the jayvee match, Warren defeated Oil City, 25-21, 25-17.

Kylie Fehlman led the Dragons with seven kills; Lexi Hoffman had five kills and an ace; Alexia Bowers had a kill, two aces and a block; Lauren Shattuck had two digs and eight points; Lauren Dolan had three aces and 19 assists; and Kirsten Johnson had four kills. Summer Lucks chipped in 12 digs with Brooke Edwards registering a pair of digs and an assist.
