Warren JV runs wild in win over Corry

Warren’s James Swanson narrowly misses blocking a punt on Friday against Fairview. Swanson had a monster JV game on Saturday against Corry, rushing for 241 yards.

CORRY – The Warren JV football team started 2018 on a winning note Saturday, traveling to Corry and coming home with a 28-12 victory.

The Dragons got a monster performance from quarterback James Swanson in the victory. Swanson carried the ball 16 times for 241 yards and three touchdowns. He also added a pair of two point conversions, one on a run and another on a pass to Ethan Wilson.

Swanson found lots of running room thanks to the blocking efforts of linemen Michael Zurcher, Tristan Dolan, Ethan Russo, Logan Nelson, and Alex Zariczny, tight end Gage Shaffer, and fullbacks Kyle Swick and Easton Hultberg.

Warren also got a rushing touchdown from Ethan Benedict, who added 47 yards on the ground. Swanson, Benedict, Swick, Hultberg, and Trevor Wills all rushed for at least 20 yards in the victory.

The Dragons were led defensively by Dilyan Stover (11 tackles) and Blake Arnold (7 tackles).
