Dragons finish fifth at Blueberry

Warren’s golf team competed in its third Region 6 mega match Thursday, and for the third time finished fifth in the team standings.

Cathedral Prep again ran away with the team win, shooting a 306 and finished 26 strokes ahead of second-place Fort LeBoeuf at Blueberry Hill Golf Course. McDowell (337) was third, with Meadville (338) fourth, Warren (360) at five, Erie (378) sixth and General McLane (401) seventh.

Prep’s Patrick Kelly was the individual winner for the second straight match with a 71. The Dragons’ Joey Sidon (74) edged out the Ramblers’ Tanner Sliker (75) for second. McDowell’s Skyler Carr and Meadville’s Ryan Ferry tied for fourth with 77.

For the Dragons, Jared Bupp (88) finished just ahead of Drew Swanson (89). Storm Sivak (109) and Selvie Pearson (115) rounded out Warren’s top five.

McDowell’s Max Paris (78), Prep’s Luke Misko (79), LeBoeuf’s Anthony Worley (80), Prep’s Evan Rowane (81) and LeBoeuf’s Derrick Sheilds (82) finished in the top ten.

Region 6 standings after three matches are: 1. Erie Cathedral Prep (21), 2. McDowell (16), 3. Meadville (15), 4. Fort LeBoeuf (14), 5. Warren (9), 6. Erie (5), 7. General McLane (4).

The Dragons will travel to Corry for an invitational Sept. 6 before the next Region 6 mega match in Fort LeBoeuf Sept. 11.
