Dragon Sweep: Warren blanks Meadville to earn second win

The Warren Dragons boys tennis team picked up their second win of the season with a 5-0 decision over Meadville at Betts Park on Thursday.

At first singles, Alex Fincher defeated Jason Sun 6-0, 7-5. At second singles, Cade Poston defeated Logan Swick 6-3, 6-2. At third singles, Bryce McCracken defeated Noah Blake 6-2, 6-3.

“I was very pleased with the way our guys played today,” said head coach Jon Meyer. “It was very windy out which made things difficult. They handled the conditions well.”

At first doubles, Lionel Eason and Zach Fincher defeated Alec Grizzie and Brendon Leech 6-2, 6-1. At second doubles, Jimmy Lobdell and Caleb Ei defeated Issac Unruh and Joe Su 6-1, 6-0.

“We had to shuffle the lineup around today,” said assistant coach Colin Kenney. “Our guys handled the changes well. We were pleased with their play today.”

Alex Fincher and the Dragons rolled to a doubleheader sweep of Rocky Grove on Wednesday.

In exhibition play, Andy Beyer and Stephen Ashbaugh defeated A.J. Seyler and Seth Conarro 8-3. Aidan Colosimo and James Lawson defeated Owen Peterson and Paul Cappello 8-6. Thomas Lucks and Jacob Tichenor defeated Tyler Thrift and Eli Korb 8-5, and Nick Lindsay and Elliott Neal defeated Seth Conarro and Gareth Smith 8-2.

The Dragons are 2-0 this season and travel to Kane Tuesday.
