Lady Dragons roll to road win over Corry
CORRY – Coming off a pair of grinding road wins, the Warren Lady Dragons went to Corry Thursday looking to wrap things up quickly.
Mission accomplished.
The Dragons jumped out to a 26-7 lead in the first quarter on their way to a 67-38 win over the Beavers.
“We wanted to jump on them right away,” Warren coach Lisa LaVan said. “We executed well in the first.”
The quick start allowed LaVan to rotate bench players in early and often, giving those players valuable varsity experience and allowing her starters the opportunity to rest a bit as the team heads into the final stretch of the regular season.
“Our starters got to sit the fourth (quarter),” LaVan said. “We were able to move players in. Especially after big games with Erie and McDowell, it was nice to get a break.”
Margo Loutzenhiser led the Dragons with 20 points, while Autumn Hultberg had eight points and seven assists and Alanna Hultberg added nine points in the win.
Warren’s break won’t last long. The Dragons travel to Jamestown (NY) Saturday for another tough non-region matchup.
