Tidioute girls drop opening games

TIONESTA – The Tidioute Lady Bulldogs dropped their opening two games of the season on Friday at the Forest Tip-Off Classic.

TCCS dropped its first game, 63-24, despite a monster effort from Nakiesha Krouse that saw her pour in 25 points.

Krouse also played strong in the second contest, a 53-20 setback to host Forest Area.

“With only five players, the girls played hard and did their best to stay with Union City through the first quarter,” said Tidioute coach Christy Valentine. “With no subs, the girls, played with a lot of heart but had a lot of first game jitters as well. In the final minute,we played with four girls after Nakiesha had to sit after a rolled ankle. Nakiesha finished with 25 points including three 3-pointers and five steals. Greysen Fors with had five points and 15 rebounds and five blocks.”

Bre Kinney had 21 points for Union City.

The girls all played hard and we now know what we have to focus in on,” Valentine said. “We aren’t back in action until next Friday versus Calvary at home with the TCCS boys in a tripleheader starting at 4:30.”

(Editors Note: Full box scores will be published in Monday’s edition of the Times Observer.”
