Blair takes one of two at Corry

Blair split an American Legion baseball double-header against Corry Northwest Savings Bank on Wednesday, winning 3-1 in the first game before dropping the second by a score of 6-5 at the Ballpark in Columbus.

After Blair scored three in the first, Colby Johnson took it the rest of the way on the mound to earn the win. Johnson didn’t allow a run until the fifth and final inning and also added a double at the plate.

Derek Reagle also doubled in a run in the first game while Nathan Betts and Evan Tremblay added singles. All four of Blair’s hits came in the decisive first inning.

Game two started in similar fashion as Aidan Morrison doubled in the first inning and was knocked in by Reagle for the game’s first run. Corry then took the lead back in the second with a grand slam and extended the lead with a two-run double in the fourth.

Blair got to within one run before three straight strikeouts ended the abbreviated game in the fifth. Chris White had a single and a double in the loss, Braidy Blair was 2-for-3 and Morrison finished 1-for-1 with a double and two walks.

Blair is back in action Monday against Post 135 at Old Legion Field.
