Lady Dragons pick up road win over St. Marys

ST. MARYS – The Warren Lady Dragons hit the road on Wednesday evening and picked up a 48-33 non-region victory over St. Mary’s.

Warren was able to race out to a 24-12 halftime lead and never had their lead seriously threatened in the second half on their way to a 5-0 start.

“We did alright in spurts,” said Warren coach Lisa LaVan. “We’re still turning the ball over too much and that needs to change. But it was a good win on the road, we got a lot of girls in and out and that’s always good.”

Warren was led offensively by sophomore Margo Loutzenhiser, who poured in 20 points. Rachel Wilson added ten points, Megan Wortman had six points and seven rebounds and Autumn Hultberg had a nice all-around game with six points, ten rebounds, and four steals.

Rachelle Armanini led St. Mary’s (3-2) with 18 points.

St. Mary’s won the JV game 39-30. Taylor Childress scored 11 points for Warren and Megan Lupole added nine.
