Sheffield volleyball falls; WCCS tops Tidioute Charter

The Lady Wolverines suffered a season-opening sweep at the hands of Johnsonburg, 13-25, 15-25 and 18-25 Tuesday at Sheffield High School.

“You could tell it was our first game as a team,” said Sheffield coach Traci Vile. “We’re replacing four starters, so we’re just trying to gel together and get our positions down. We have things to improve on for sure.”

Rachel Lemay finished the night with nine assists and three kills, Claire Pierson had six kills, Julia Vile had three kills, and Mya Grubbs had five assists. Lexi Lyon and Pierson each added six service points.

Sheffield hosts Bradford on Thursday.
