Warren boys remain unbeaten

Warren improved to 10-0 overall and 4-0 in Region 2 with a sweep of Corry on Wednesday at Betts Park.

The Dragons’ singles players were stellar again with Nate Sandberg and Ben Auzou each winning 6-0, 6-0 over Corry’s Alex Salon and Freddie Steffen, respectively.

Sandberg and Auzou are now a perfect 10-0 in singles play this season.

Warren’s top doubles pair of Quinn Boger and Bryce Bauer defeated Nolan Pike and Josh Schrecongost, 6-2, 6-1. Noah Colvin and Clark Eason completed Warren’s team sweep with a clean 6-0, 6-0 win in second doubles.

Wednesday’s third singles match was forfeited to the Dragons as Corry could not field a seventh player. Warren’s usual number three Sean McGuinness won a 8-3 proset decision over Salon in exhibition play.

Also in exhibition play, Warren’s Darren Liu topped Steffen 8-1 in a singles match. The doubles teams of Steffen Blair and Dylan Hansen, Alex Sherman and Bob McAvoy, and Joey Close and Jason Waterfield also earned exhibition wins.

The Dragons will travel to Titusville for another region match on Friday.
