The Allegheny Diamond Devils placed second this weekend at the 12-team Northwestern Summer Bash 14U Fastpitch Softball Tournament this weekend in Albion. The Diamond Devils finished 4-2, beating the Crawford County Explosion twice and Meadville Menace before losing to the Union City Ice in pool play. The Devils then beat Union City in the semifinals before falling to the Lakeland Hurricanes in the championship game. Ball field donation
Ellwood National Crankshaft recently donated a new pitching screen and progressive release bases to the Division Street Baseball Field in Youngsville. Pat Black had most points with 8.5, Al Ludwick seven pars, and Hofert led with two birdies. Ralph Gallo, Jim Terrill, Jon Nelson, Bob Yucha, Gail McChesney, Denny Ayers, Dick Coon, Robeson and Tom Radecki had one birdie each.

Sugar Grove's Sarah Inman competed on Stroup's Gymnastics' (Jamestown, N.Y.) Level 2 gymnastics team recently at the state championships held at Gymnastics Unlimited in West Seneca, N.Y. Inman scored a 9.2 in Vault, 7.85 in Bars, 8.725 in Beam, 8.2 in Floor, and 33.975 in All-Around.
