Bob Raible, Warren/Forest Counties Economic Opportunity Council (EOC) executive director, and Karen Davis, president of the EOC board of directors, attended the Washington, D.C., National Community Action Foundation (NCAF) annual conference March 26-29. The conference was a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the War on Poverty of the President Lyndon B. Johnson administration and the establishment of the community action agencies in 1964. Raible and Davis were privileged to hear speeches by Congresspersons Nancy Pelosi and Paul Ryan and US Senators Tom Harkin and Elizabeth Warren. They also made a visit to the Hill to meet with local Congressman Glenn Thompson and his staff.
