Knight Time Players
Knights send off
Congratulations to the Eisenhower Knights on their playoff game. The team stopped in Sugar Grove on Friday night and was greeted by a crowd of supporters and many local dignitaries. Pictured are Quarterback Rob Wilston along with Carter Farrell and Jon Shelton greeted by School Board Member Tom Knapp, Mayor Dutch Strand, Mayor-Elect Pete Allenson and School Board Member Marcy Morgan.
The Eisenhower Knight-time Players will present "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14-16, and at 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 16.
The play, which includes children from pre-school to seniors, as well as one alumni, will be presented at the historic Struthers Library Theatre in downtown Warren.
Advance tickets are available in the Eisenhower Middle High School main office, from any cast member, and by calling 489-3744, or emailing email@example.com. All tickets will be $2 more at the door. The box office at the Library Theatre will be open Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., and advance tickets will be available then. Full-price tickets will be available at the door the nights of the performances.
This play, which is a great way to start the holiday season, revolves around a rag-tailed group of children called the Herdmans. They are dirty, rambunctious and not so nice sometimes. They hear there are refreshments at Sunday school, so they arrive just in time to take over the annual Christmas pageant. The play is full of laughter and touching moments.
Thank you to all in the Sugar Grove community who came out on Friday, Nov. 8 for the Eisenhower Knights football team send-off. The team bus stopped at 4:30 p.m. in town on Friday on its way to the playoff game in Corry,. A large crowd was on hand to greet the team with signs, balloons, and loud cheers. A number of area dignitaries were also on hand. School board members, our Sugar Grove Borough mayor and mayor-elect, township supervisors and more all took the time to shake hands with each member of the team and congratulate them on a great season.
A huge thank you to the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department which escorted the team in style with numerous horns and sirens from the school all the way to Corry High School. They were also joined en route by the state police as well as the Bear Lake Fire Department.

The Sugar Grove Free Library Book Club is looking onward to Nov. On, Monday, Nov. 25 when Chris Kerr will lead us in a discussion of Herman Wouk's "A Hole in Texas". (Herman Wouk, you may remember, won the Pulitzer for "The Caine Mutiny"). Our book is a satire on "Washington, the media, and science, and what happens when these three great forces of American culture clash." It is witty and fast-paced and might lead us to wonder just what does go on in our government. Pick up a copy of your book at the library and start reading.
