The Eisenhower Lady Knights put forth a strong effort against Region 3 opponent North East, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Grapepickers in a 7-0 shutout Thursday evening at Eisenhower High School.
Numerous penalties against the Knights to start the game earned two penalty kicks for North East that both resulted in goals. After strong attempts at ball possession from Eisenhower, a corner kick from the Grape Pickers gave them a 3-0 lead. The end of the half saw North East up 5-0 over Eisenhower.
For the majority of the second half the Knights improved their ball control. It wasn't enough to stop the North East girls as they scored one more goal leaving the Lady Knights with a record of 1-3 overall and a 1-2 region mark.
Head coach James Brannon said, "We have a good team, and I don't think the other team had too much more talent than us. They just had the drive to win and that is what I want our team to work on. Some recent injuries have changed the lineup, and we're looking to improve in a lot of areas."
The Lady Knights will face Iroquois on home turf Monday night at Eisenhower High School.

The Lady Dragons suffered a non-region loss at the hands of the McDowell Trojans, 6-0, Thursday at McDowell High School. Warren is now 2-5 overall, 1-0 in Region 4, and will take on General McLane Saturday at War Memorial Field.
