Youngsville High School's S.A.D.D. Club sponsored "Spirit Week" recently, featuring themed dress-days, an assembly, and fundraising.
The S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions) members planned and implemented activities promoting student camaraderie and positive rivalry among the faculty. With the upcoming county-wide S.A.D.D conference fast approaching in April, S.A.D.D. members needed to raise funds to cover the cost of their bus trip and other expenses.
YHS students voted in a "penny war" all week to determine which four teachers would be "pied" by students chosen by lottery. Spirit Week culminated in a pep assembly run entirely by S.A.D.D. members, where winter sports teams were introduced and the "winning" teachers were the target of the whipped-cream pies. S.A.D.D. Club rose over $200 in coins for their efforts.
