LIMESTONE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 38-year-old man has fatally shot his estranged wife and her boyfriend after she showed up at the couple's former home in a small western New York community to retrieve some of her belongings.
The Cattaraugus (kat-uh-RAW'-gus) County Sheriff's Office tells local media outlets that 43-year-old Kimberly Podolski, her boyfriend and a third person had gone to the home in the hamlet of Limestone Wednesday afternoon to retrieve some of her items.
Deputies say Podolski and the boyfriend were shot and killed by her estranged husband, Daniel Podolski, who then shot himself in the head. Officials say he's in critical condition at a hospital in Erie, Pa.
The third person ran away and called police. The boyfriend's name hasn't been released.
Limestone is on the Pennsylvania border 60 miles south of Buffalo.
