PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities in a Philadelphia suburb are blaming the snowstorm on the death of an elderly man.

The Delaware County Daily Times ( said Wednesday that an 89-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer's disease died after wandering outside during the bitterly cold snowstorm overnight.

Ridley Township police said family members discovered the man was not in his bed early Wednesday and found him in a neighbor's yard wearing only underwear.

Paramedics transported the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released.
