Meanwhile the refinery spills carcinogens into this supposed clean air while cars driving to and from the parks do the same thing.

If your opinion is that the kids health matter so much to you then perhaps you will do away with all your newspaper delivery drivers and hire those same kids to walk the routes.

Sounds like a typical well meaning but unenforceable rule that will simply cause hard feelings between the parties. Inside I support it completely, outside, not so much. Lets also forbid vehicles, open fires, grills, etc from being within breathing distance of children.

Excellent. It's about time. Smokers absolutely have the right to smoke, but not where it harms another's right to clean air. This is only legitimate because second hand smoke is proven to be harmful. Smokers can walk 50 feet away from the swing sets and be fine.

Good editorial. Council ought to pass the ordinance. Who enforces it? Any adult there; if person refuses, call the cops. THEN there will be a fine or charges, for defiant trespass, disorderly conduct, etc.

the under age teens standing around smoking their cigs or chewing snuff will tell the adults they can't use tobacco around their area.

It is a well meaning regulation but who will enforce it?
