The Trickle - Timelapse

May 10, 2013 - Brian Ferry
Recently, Time Magazine came out with a time lapse satellite photography application. Time Timelapse Powered by Google - http://world.time.com/timelapse/ - shows changes that have taken place over the last 30 years. Starting in 1984, with one picture per year through 2012, the program can zoom in on any location or take the visitor to some locations selected by the programmers that show particular areas of change. It's pretty cool. Probably not the kind of thing you want to spend a lot of time on at work, though. The Allegheny Reservoir doesn't show much in the way of change. The Allegheny National Forest shows some interesting results. I'm working on finding out what the big square that shows up in 1998 is. The program doesn't zoom in far enough to show decent detail the development in North Warren over the past few years. SCI-Forest is an interesting development. If you find something else that is locally interesting there, let me know.
