James D. Skinner
James Dale Skinner formerly of Lander passed away early in the morning on 16 June 2025 after a four-year battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
James was born in Jamestown New York on 21 Dec. 1952 to Marion and Kenneth “Dale” Skinner. He grew up in Lander, Pa with his parents and three siblings, Virginia, Georgia, and Charles.
He met his wife Linda whom he married in 1978, then moved to Palm Bay, Florida in 1980. James worked at Piper Aircraft Corporation where he retired as Director of IT. In retirement he also worked at Lowes and opened a granite business installing counter tops for both commercial and residential. James was a jack of all trades and always willing and excited to help a neighbor or friend with a project.
James went by many names, Skinner, Dad, Jelly Belly Jimmy, Pickalatmous “Pick”, Old Man, Mountain Man, and many more. He loved riding his Harley, camping at festivals, spending time with family, backyard parties, and bourbon. He was a great storyteller with the best sense of humor and often the life of the party, especially if there was a campfire nearby.
James was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents Marion and Dale Skinner, his sister Virginia Lawrence, brother Charles Skinner, niece Abby Skinner, and nephew Justin Jungquist. James is survived by his wife Linda Skinner, children Jacob (Page) Skinner and Amy (William) Skinner, sister Georgia (Alan) Ludwick, and many more loved ones.
His Celebration of Life will be Saturday 23 August, starting 3:00pm. Location is 1001 Buckley Rd, Pittsfield, PA, 16340. This is an outdoor celebration where we ask that you bring your beverage of choice and a small side for sharing. There will be food and music. Please dress comfortably.
