Edward David Uber

Edward David Uber, 78, of Panama, N.Y., passed away Dec. 2, 2021, at UPMC Chautauqua, Jamestown, N.Y., after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ed was born on June 8, 1943, in St. Mary’s, Pa,. the son of the late Hugh and Helen Pride Uber.

He was a 1961 graduate of Eisenhower High School. He joined the U. S. Air Force and served for four years during the Vietnam conflict. He was a machinist, foreman, and worked in the foundry of Goulds Pumps, Inc. in Seneca Falls, N.Y., for 37 years. Ed was a member of the Watts Flatts United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, sports, and camping.

Ed is survived by his wife, Barbara Voegele Uber; two children: Walter (Lynn) Uber of Charleston, S.C. and Patricia Uber of Dubois, Pa.; four siblings: Carol Andrews of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Hugh Bernard (Dianne) Uber of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Martin “Jim” (Patricia) Uber of Sugar Grove, Pa., and Dale (Nancy) Uber of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Uber.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Ed’s favorite charities, the SPCA 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 32121 Woodward Ave Suite 350, Royal Oak, MI 48073.

Ed’s wishes were to spend eternity in the mountains of Colorado. His ashes will be placed there at a later date.
