Jerome Erickson

Jerome E. “Jerry” Erick-son, 84, formerly of 166 Connecticut Ave., died Wednesday Feb. 3, 2021, in Lutheran.

A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born Nov. 17, 1936, the son of the late Leroy E. and Roscelia Sherman Erick-son.

He was a 1954 graduate of Jamestown High School and went on to earn a de-gree in engineering from Tri-State University, Angola, IN.

His work career began as an instructor at Jamestown Community College, then at Crescent Tool Company and then partnered with Francis Jenkins forming Jenkins and Erickson. Jerry later founded J.E. Erickson and Associates, which was later acquired by Abate Engineering where he served as project manager. In later years, he served as a consultant for Allied Fire Protection Systems Inc.

He was a member of the JayCees and Rotary Inter-national and Christ First United Methodist Church. Over the course of six decades, he was involved in Free Masonry. His memberships include Mount Moriah Lodge No. 145, Valley of Jamestown Scottish Rite and Elks Lodge. He was the recipient of many awards from the Masons, achieving a 33rd degree.

Surviving are three children Vicki L. (Scott) Kind-berg of Jamestown, Willi-am E. (Sonja) Erickson of North East, Pa. and Susi M. (Pastor James) Pegan of Supply, N.C.; four grandchildren Jimm Pegan of Alphraetta, GA, Katiann (Jon) Park of Midway, GA, Eric Dahlgren and Jeremy (Autumn) Dahlgren both of Jamestown; step grandchildren Matthew Kindberg, Charlie (Tammy) Davis, Tim (Julie) Davis, Daniel (Susan) Davis, Jennifer (Chris) Lavelle, Justin Bailey and Adam Bailey and three great grandchildren Isis, Anthem and Daeryn Dahlgren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Donna Kraft Erick-son, whom he married Sept. 9, 1959 and who died Nov. 27, 2009.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

A Masonic Lodge Funeral Service will be held at a later date when larger gatherings are permitted.
