Gerald “Jerry” Ronald Cataldo

Gerald “Jerry” Ronald Cataldo, 78, of Youngsville, Pa., passed away on Jan. 23, 2021, at his home.

He was born in Pitts-burgh, Pa., on Nov. 9, 1942, a son to the late Gerald and Florence (Lehman) Cataldo of Gibsonia, Pa.

Jerry is the beloved husband of Bethany (Blough) Cataldo; father of Gerald Cataldo Jr. and Kimberly (Cataldo) Holden; stepfather of two: Bret and the late Vance Bachelor; and grandfather of three grand-sons and four grand-daughters; four great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Cataldo; and sister, Jackie (Cataldo) Stritzinger.

Gerald, “Jerry” was a graduate of Hampton High School, in Allison Park, Pa., and was a proud U.S. Marine serving from 1961-66. He worked as a deputy conservation officer for the Pennyslvania Fish and Boat Commission and retired as police chief of the Youngsville Police Department.

Jerry was an avid and passionate (maybe even obsessive) fisherman and loved spending time on Chautauqua Lake with his wife, Bethany.

Jerry did not want a funeral with visitation because of the Covid-19 pandemic. A memorial service will be held (in his words), “down the road.”

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, Pa 16505.

The Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, in Youngsville, have been entrusted with all arrangements.
