Floyd (Lee) Rubright

Floyd (Lee) Rubright, 89 of Sheffield, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 15, 2021, at Kinzua Health Care and Rehabilitation in Warren.

He was born in Jeanette, Pa., on Dec. 2, 1931, the son of Walter Rubright and Bertha (Guinn) Rubright. He attended Penn Town-ship Schools. He married the love of his life, the former Doris Carr on Sept. 10, 1952, at Congruity Presbyterian Church. To-gether they celebrated 68 years of marriage.

He was employed by the former AllTel Telephone Company in Sheffield, as an installer and repairman. He worshiped at the Cherry Grove Community Chapel.

Lee was a man with a strong work ethic who would never say no to any-one and would always be there to help the communi-ty of Sheffield. Lee was a member of the board of directors of the Warren County Fair for well over 30 years. He loved tractors of any kind. He was on the original festival committee for the Johnny Appleseed Festival in Sheffield begin-ning in 1969. He again served on the committee starting in 2006 when the festival was renewed and did so until his health prevented his participation. He faithfully helped put up the town Christmas decora-tions every year. Lee will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of know-ing and loving him, espe-cially the community of Sheffield. He will be remembered for his kind heart and his contagious smile.

Left behind to cherish Lee’s memory are his wife, Doris of Sheffield; His chil-dren: Kenneth L. Rubright and wife, Karen of Shef-field, Sandra Rubright Setili and husband, Richard of Akeley and Wayne A. Rubright and wife, Tina of Clarendon. He is further survived by grandchildren: Carleena Rubright McMil-len and husband, Bob, Kris-ty Rubright Rieck and hus-band,, John, Kerri Rubright Scarbrough and husband Brad, Matthew D. Water-field and wife, JulieAnne, Nathan D. Waterfield and wife, Holly and Audry Fitzgerald and husband, Ben. Additionally he is sur-vived by nine great- grandchildren with the tenth due in a few weeks. He is lastly survived by his brother, Lloyd Rubright, (wife, Patricia); as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Lee is preceded in death by his siblings: George Ru-bright (surviving wife, Vir-ginia), Thelma Howell (husband, George), and Vern Rubright (surviving wife, Marylou).

Private family services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at the Bor-den Funeral Home of Shef-field with Pastor Edwin Ir-vin of the Cherry Grove Community Chapel offici-ating. Burial will take place at the Cherry Grove cemetery.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Kinzua Health Care, especially those in the Alzheimer’s Unit, for the loving care and respect they gave Lee. They are special people.
