Brenda Scelene Lucas Garris

Brenda Scelene Lucas Garris, 81, a resident of the Rouse Home in Youngsville and formerly of Warren passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at the Rouse Home. Born Jan. 14, 1940, in Sigel, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Gerald (Dave) and Wilka Asel Lucas. She was employed for 37 years as a Ward Clerk at Warren General Hospital in the Maternity Department, retiring when she was 65.

She loved flower gardening, walking, hiking, kayaking and traveling. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She attended various methodist churches, most recently attending the Covenant United Methodist Church in Warren and worship services at the Rouse Home.

Surviving are a daughter, Denise G. Hall (John Elmquist) of Warren; a son, Todd A. Garris (Laura) of Youngsville; a sister, Glen-da Blakeslee (Stan) of Youngsville; a brother, Terry Lucas (Ann Jones) of Pittsfield; 3 grandchildren, Samantha, Steven and Col-ton Garris; several nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Arnold; and a niece, Karina Blakeslee. Due to CO-VID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
