Alexis Nigel Sommers Ph.D
Alexis Nigel Sommers Ph.D, died July 21, 2020, in Hollywood, Fla., after a year long struggle with cancer.
Born Oct. 9 1941, in Barnet, Hertfordshire County, England, Alex moved with his parents and sister to the United States.
After attending junior and senior high school, he graduated with the Warren High School class of 1959. He later attended the University of New Haven, Conn., where he became professor emeritus and pro-vost of the University.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela; son, Robin; daughter, Guinevere; step-sons: Samuel and Timothy; sister, Anne; and several grandchildren.
