Dorothy E. Repine

Dorothy E. Repine, 90, of Sheffield passed away peacefully Monday afternoon July 13, 2020, at the Warren Manor, Warren, Pa.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1929, in Jamestown, N.Y., to Arthur R. and Olga (Lawson) Benson. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School in Jamestown, New York.

Dorothy had many jobs, but her passion was that of cooking and baking. She was a true mentor and inspiration to many and has left behind a legacy of knowledge especially to those who continue her work. She was a member of the Sheffield Fire Department Auxiliary where she was in charge of the kitchen and responsible for ensuring that dinners were done to her satisfaction. She also continued her work as the head cook at the Sheffield Senior Center where she made sure that everyone received a hot home cooked meal.

In addition, Dorothy and her late husband Duke were proprietors together in Repine’s gas and service station of Sheffield. She greatly enjoyed going to the casino in Salamanca and never missed a chance to buy a scratch-off lottery ticket to try and win “big.” One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards with her friends at the Senior Center or at the Sheffield Country Manor.

She was a dear lady who was highly respected and will be missed by many. In addition, she was a member of the Sheffield United Methodist Church, the Sheffield Senior Center and the Sheffield Fire Department ladies auxiliary.

Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her sons Daniel Repine and his wife Candace of Sheffield, Doug Repine and his wife Patsy also of Sheffield. Dorothy is further survived by her grandchildren Jason and Shannon Re-pine, Justin and Rachell Re-pine and Christina Cywinski. She has three great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clair L (Duke) Repine, one brother Daniel Benson and a grandson, Daniel Allan Re-pine.

Dorothy’s family will welcome family and friends on Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 10-11 a.m. at the Sheffield United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Douglas Brink, church pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Sheffield Cemetery.
