Mary H. Shaffer

Mary was born Jan, 16, 1933, in St. Mary’s, Pa., to the late George and Kathryn (Marks) Cottillion.

Mary was a graduate of Warren High School and longtime member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She worked as a legal secretary for several years. She loved all children and enjoyed caring for them. She also enjoyed sports, basketball being her all-time favorite. She was love deeply and will be missed dearly.

Mary is survived by her husband, Earl Shaffer; children: Craig (Diane) Young, of Cutler Bay, Fla., Robert (Melinda) Young of Hudson, Ohio, Shirley (Rick) Walker, of Russell, Pa., and Michelle (Royce) Blum of Ludlow, Pa.; her siblings: John Cottillion, of Warren, Fannie Newmaker of Warren, Betty Ann Samaris, of New Jersey, and Teddy Cottillion of Warren; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by first husband, Mack Young; and her nephew, Stephan Guinta.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Pennsylvania Ave. E. Warren, PA, 16365, with the Rev. Lawrence Scofield, officiating.

Burial will take place at the Warren County Memorial Park.

The family has requested memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave., Warren, PA, 16365.
