Norman Sorenson

Norman M. Sorenson slipped away into heaven on Friday, March, 27, 2020.

He was born on November, 25, 1944, in Meadville, PA, a son to the late Mel and Jean (Parker) Sorenson. He graduated from Linesville High School in 1962. Norm proudly served 4 years in the United States Airforce and married the love of his life, Patsy Hanlon on October 29, 1966. He was a helicopter pilot for the Pennsylvania State Police for 13 years and also worked as a helicopter pilot for the oil rigs in Louisiana. Before he retired, Norm worked for the Seneca Casino for 17 years. He was a member of the Youngsville American Legion Post 658, the Corry VFW Post 264 and the Franklin, PA Elks Lodge 110.

He was a very gregarious person who everyone loved, he never knew a stranger. He had many friends from the American Legion and numerous friends from all over, including, Richard Coulter, his longtime friend from Linesville. Norm obtained his private pilot’s license and at one time, owned an airplane. He accepted Jesus as his savior a long time ago and knew the Bible well.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Hanlon) Sorenson; two daughters, Ingrid Adams and her husband, Cliff, Kimberly Chuzie and her husband Gary; 7 grandchildren, Zach Witherell, Ashley Marcotte and her husband, Drake, Jesse Witherell and her husband, Dakota, Aiden Adams, Billy Chuzie and his wife, Allison, Katie Lewis and her husband, Josh, and Joey Chuzie; 5 greatgrandchildren, Nevaeh and Harper Marcotte, Linkin Rosendahl, Jace and Payton Chuzie all of the Youngsville/Warren area. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert Sorenson and his wife, Nicole, from Prescott, AZ, Gail McBride and her husband, Donald, of Largo, FL and Nancy Pecor and her husband, Steve, of Meadow Vista, CA; several nieces and nephews and his beloved cat, Lilly.

In addition to his parents, Norm was preceded in death by a niece, Jackie McBride.

A celebration of life service will be held and announced at a later date.
