Betty Alcorn

Betty was born December 30, 1925 in Pittsfield to the late Fred Sliter and Velma (Messinger) Sliter Nelson. She loved entertaining family and friends in her Florida home. Summers would bring her to the camp in Pa. to spend more time with her family and loved ones. She will be missed by all.

Betty is survived by her children; Larry Jewell and companion Elsie Hanks of Torpedo, Douglas (Nancy) Jewell of N.C. Barbara Anthony of Tenn., Laura Petryszyn, of Corry, William (Lola) Jewell of Fl, Bradley (Sandy) Jewell of Garland, 4 step children, David (Hazel) Alcorn, Ann (Doug) Giblin, Worth (Kathy) Alcorn, Marlene (Wesley) McCracken, a brother Carl (Miriam) Sliter of Pittsfield, 18 grandchildren; Adrian Jewell, Melissa Jewell, Bryon Jewell, Renee (Trevor) Batchelor, Caleb (Manessa) Jewell, Carrie (Jim) Kish, Nadine (Andy) Taston, Leslie (C.J.) Blevins, Michael (Stacey) Robinault, Tammy (Mark) Dussia, Heather Kennon, Anthony Petryezyn, James (Larua) Jewell, Nicole Jewell, Justin Jewell, Karen (Steve) Boardman, Shad (Kathi) Jewell and Jamie (Kevin) Sheehy, 43 great grandghildren and 2 great great grandchildren as well as many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Betty was also survived by her good friends, Eugene, Michelle and Cheyenne Goodman and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband David Alcorn on October 19, 2013, son in law Robert Anthony and siblings Marvin Sliter, Francis Buck, Marian Groves, and Vern Messenger .

A private burial will be held in The Fountains Memorial Park in Homosassa, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to the Torpedo Church 250 Main St. Spartandburg, PA 16434.
