Roger Loewenheim

Roger Loewenheim, 76, of 44 Nottingham Circle, Jamestown, NY, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, February 23, 2020, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.

He was born on October 20, 1943, in New Rochelle, New York the son of the late Harold A. Loewenheim and Virginia Speyer Loewenheim. He was a 1961 graduate of Mamaroneck High School. He resided in Rye, N.Y. before settling in Jamestown, N.Y. He retired from American General Life.

Roger had a passion for automobiles; from his first car, the 1955 Ford Thunderbird, to his SLK Class Mercedes. He spent his free time learning about the latest developments in the car industry. He loved to travel with his wife Midge to various destinations; his favorite being Maui, Hawaii. In all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Roger is survived by his loving wife Midge (Wilbur) Loewenheim, whom he married on June 18 2011, 2 sons – Daniel Loewenheim of Erie, P.A., Jeffrey (Jenny) Loewenheim of Eugene, O.R. – 4 stepchildren – Chip (Penny) Wilson, Dawn (Bob) Guiffre, Paula (Alex) Royo, and Rose Gourley; all of Warren, P.A. 1 Sister – Barbara (Stan) Jacobs of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. , 15 Grandchildren – Brian and Matthew of Russell, P.A., Samantha of Erie, P.A., Shawn, David, Amber, Charles, Ian, Noah, Tyler, Autumn, Matthew, Marissa, Adriana, and Thayne of Warren P.A. 4 GreatGrandchildren – Ethan, Starrlin, Wyatt, and Leo of Warren P.A. Several nephews and nieces also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife Nancy Goldfarb Loewenheim, 1 sister – Patti Loewenheim Frankie, 1 step daughter – Misty Wilson Barone.

Per Roger’s request, his body will be donated to Science Care, Incorporated towards medical science advancements. A private memorial service to be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF).
