Doris was born on April 19, 1933 in Warren, PA, the daughter of the late Vivian Olson. She was a graduate of Warren High School.

Doris married Herbert C Carlstrom on February 23, 1951.

Doris worked at Penn Laurel in her younger years as a short order cook and retired from Sylvania in 1993 after many years of service as a Lab Technician. After retirement Doris worked at Warren Pet Store, because of her love for animals she enjoyed this job immensely.

Doris was a devoted believer of God and attended many churches over the years, most recently including: Otterbein United Methodist Church and Cable Hollow Church. In her younger years, she loved to spend time with her husband roller skating and later in life having coffee and watching the birds. She was a keen flower gardener and enjoyed her time working in her flower beds. Many people passing by would stop and admire her beautiful gardens. She was a very talented painter and loved the afternoons spent painting with her good friends Peggy and Shirley. Doris handwriting was a work of art in itself. Sewing was also one of her favorite past times. When her daughter was young she made all of her clothes and later she enjoyed making dolls, teddy bears and quilts with her granddaughters. She enjoyed the wind in her face when she took motorcycle rides with her brother Donald and weekend camping at Kellettville with her children.

Doris is survived by her daughter: Lynda (Brian) Olson of Sugar Grove, PA; her son: Jeffrey Carlstrom of Scandia, PA; five grandchildren: Freya (David) Scott, Joel (Christen) Carlstrom, Erica (Bud) Steber, Brandon (Jenna) Olson and Jennie (LeRoy) Mott; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
