Pauline Smith

Pauline M. Smith, 87, of Spring Creek, passed away on Thursday morning, January 16, 2020, at the John & Orpha Blair Hospice House.

She was born May 1, 1932, in Warren, PA, a daughter to the late John and Marjorie (Seamens) Meehan. Polly graduated from Youngsville High School. She worked as a homemaker and was caregiver to her husband for most of her life. She was a member of the Wrightsville Community Church where she was treasurer for 25 plus years. Polly was very involved in the church; she enjoyed volunteering her time to help others. She loved to babysit her grandchildren, spend time in her garden and was a doll collector. She loved animals and enjoyed being a horse show mother and grandmother.

Polly is survived by her children, Linda Hess of Youngsville, Arden (Nancy) Smith Jr. of Irvine, Ronald (Tammi) Smith of Pittsfield, Lori (Jimmy) Dyke of Lottsville and Randall (Danielle) Smith of Somerset, OH; two half siblings, Connie Bradley and John Meehan Jr.; her grandchildren, Stacy (Alan) Cressley, Christopher Smith, Scott (Lori) Dyke, Nathan (Crystal) Smith, Jenifer (Noah) McDonald, Rebecca Sleeman and her fiance, Pat Carpenter, Alex (Heather) Dyke and Colt Smith; her step-grandchildren, Katina Devereaux, Shane Yucha, McKenzie and Luke Clark, Lacey Strandberg and Riley and Elley Eastman; her great-grandchildren, Johnathan, Savannah, Logan, Alexis, Adelyn, Bailey, Clayton, Skyler and Gavin and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Arden Smith and a son-in-law, Neil Hess.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 36pm at the Nelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 314 North Main Street, Youngsville, PA 16371. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20 at 11am at the Wrightsville Community Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Morris, officiating. A private burial will follow in the Wrightsville Cemetery.
