Kay Richards

Kay was born on August 25, 1932, in Reading, PA, to the late William and Carrie (Folk) Spies.

Kay was a 1950 graduate of Muhlerberg High School and after her children were grown, she worked as a bookkeeper and secretary in her husband’s residential construction business. Kay also worked as a billing clerk at the Warren General Hospital, from which she retired. Kay was active in the Calvary Baptist Church and was Den Mother for Cub Scouts.

Kay is survived by her husband of 66 years, William Richards, whom she married on September 19, 1953; her children, Janet (Robert) Hutley, of Lander, Robert Richards and his friend Sarah, of Warren, Michael (Cynthia) Richards, of Sugar Grove, David (Lisa) Richards, of Irvine, and Tim (Mirja) Richards, of Kane; 10 grandchildren;17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her siblings, William Spies, Ruth Holland, Thelma Zimmerman, and Arlene Spies; and her grandson, Jeremy Richards.

Friends will be received from 47PM on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365 and for one hour prior to a service that will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 24, 2020, at the Calvary Baptist Church, 445 Conewango Ave, Warren, PA 16365.

The family has requested memorial donations be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 445 Conewango Ave, Warren, PA 16365.

Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
