Rockwell O’Sheill

Rocky O’Sheill, formerly of Warren, passed away on Nov. 3 in Greenwood, SC; he was 84. He was born in San Antonio, TX to the late Edward J Sheil and Lavalette R Sheil. After graduating from Coronado HS in California, Rocky moved east and attended the Univ. of Virginia. In 1958 he graduated from Gannon College and in 1962 he completed his studies at Dickinson School of Law.

Rocky practiced law in Warren, Pa. for many years as a partner with Blackman, Blackman & O’Sheill and was a member of the ABA. While in Warren he was also a member of the Conewango Club, CVCC, President of the Warren County Council and co-owner of local radio stations WNAE/WRRN.

Rocky and his family moved to Hilton Head Isl., SC in 1974 where he enjoyed golf, hunting, travel, photography and gourmet cooking. He was a member of the HH Men’s Golf Assoc., Moss Creek GC, Ducks Unlimited, AOPA, and the Low country Oyster & Motor Car Driving Society. He served as JAG for the US Navy League, was past President and Committee Member for the HHI St. Pat’s Parade, was a 25year volunteer for the RBC Heritage and 50year member of SCCA as a racer, steward and car enthusiast.

In addition to his parents, Rocky was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years Susan M. O’Sheill. He is survived by his sister Lavalette “Penny” Brown, his children Colleen Gregory (Ernie), Bridgette Markell (Ron), Lavalette “Lette” O’Sheill, Sean O’Sheill (Candi), stepdaughter Cynthia Eichenlaub, wife Christine T. O’Sheill, 8 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren and 5 nieces and nephews.

Burial will be held privately in Warren, Pa.
