Eleanor Gregory

She was born May 24, 1937, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Merritt and Rose Smith Jobe, Sr.

She was a 1955 graduate of Jamestown High School.

Working in food service much of her career she had been employed by Jamestown Bowling Company, Yum Yums Restaurant and retired from the Dibert Home as a cook.

She was a longtime active member of Lakewood Memorial Post #1286 American Legion Auxiliary, chairing the children’s Christmas party and the annual poppy sale.

Surviving are four children Catherine (Russell) Haight, Anita (Sid) Hotchkiss, Burdette (Laurie) Gregory and Darin (Cindy) Gregory; eleven grandchildren Joe (Noel) Gregory, Jill Gregory, Jacob (Kimberly) Gregory, Jessica Halsey, Heather (Cody) O’Neil, Dustin Gregory, DeeAnna Gregory, Darlean (Ken) Lane, Josh Haight, Joel Haight and LeAnn Haight and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother Merritt Jobe, Jr.; a sister Harriet Schauers; grandson Jason Gregory and former husband Jack Gregory.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Rowland will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 13 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
