William H. Songer

William “Buffalo Bill” H. Songer, 67, born July 14, 1951 passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 28 surrounded by loving family. Bill was a graduate of Warren Area High School 1969 and received an engineering degree from Cornell University in 1973. He devoted 30 plus years of his life working for AAA Environmental where he culminated his career as Senior Vice President.

Bill’s true passions in life resided in his love for adventure and the outdoors. He obtained his pilot license, sky diving license, was a certified SCUBA diver, was a member of sailboat racing teams in both Florida and New York, and was known to race a few cars back in the day. Bill was a brother in good standing and active member of The Masonic Konosioni Lodge # 950 F & A.M. Bill’s zest for life and pure enjoyment could be truly seen when his hair was blowing in the wind riding in his cobra or sailing on the Wind Songer with his children while fishing and exploring the wonders of the water.

Bill was predeceased by his loving wife of 32 years Nancy Songer, his son David J. Songer, and his parents Jack and Marion Songer. He is survived by his 4 children and their families: Dan Stenger, Boyertown PA, Kate Daniels (son Griffin), Phoenixville PA, Tim and Sue Songer (daughter Avalina), Camillus NY, Jon and Kristy Songer, Liverpool NY, grandson David Songer, Truxton NY, and his siblings and their families: Carol Songer, Warren PA, Jack and Gayle Songer, Fair Play CA, and Sue and Steven Peltz, Augusta MI.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Maurer Funeral Home Inc. 300 Second St. Liverpool, followed by entombment in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
