June Wiggins

She was born Marilyn June Odmark on May 13, 1934 in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of Folke and Jennie Odmark and the sister of Gordon (Marilynn) Odmark. June was married to Newton Wayne Wiggins of Palmyra, IL, on April 18, 1956. June is survived by the couple’s two children: Jodi (Wiggins) Barrett of Crystal Lake, IL and Mike (Lisa) Wiggins of Downs, IL, as well as four grandchildren: Ryan and Jaclyn Barrett, and Dayne and Darek Wiggins.

June was CoPresident of the Warren (PA) High School graduating class of 1952 and graduated from The Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago in 1955. She was a Registered Nurse at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL before her children were born. June did volunteer work for the Hospital Auxiliary Board, the County Cancer Society Board and Baby TALK. She completed her career at the hospital working in the pharmacy.

June enjoyed caring for their family pets, as well as decorating her home, cooking and traveling. Memorable travel destinations include living in England for six months, a monthlong road trip through Europe and vacations to Mount Rushmore, Hawaii, Aruba, Jamaica, Puerto Vallarta, Alaska and Egypt.

June and Wayne have donated their bodies to the Anatomical Gift Association (AGA) for scientific study. At June’s request, there are no plans for a memorial service. The family will have a private celebration of life at one of their favorite vacation spots.
