Joan Abbey
Joan L. Abbey, 87, of Warren, PA, passed away January 6, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA.
She was born December 7, 1931 in Memphis, TN, a daughter to the late Everett and Evelyn (Hansen) Orcutt. Joan was a member of the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to church, attending luncheons and reading, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Savugot of Athens, TN, Loren Abbey of Warren, PA, Rod Abbey of Warren, PA, Yvonne (Dan) Drum of Sugar Grove, PA and Cindy (Mike) Richards of Sugar Grove, PA; 12 grandchildren and their spouses; 24 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Basil R. Abbey; 2 brothers, Rodney and Edward Orcutt and a soninlaw, Tony Savugot.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service on Thursday, January 10, at 11am at the Hessel Valley Lutheran Cemetery in Sugar Grove, PA with the Rev. Nancy Schwanke, pastor, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hessel Valley Lutheran Church, 166 Hessel Valley Road, Sugar Grove, PA 16350 or to a charity of one’s choice.
