Theda Hollenbaugh

Theda Lenore Hollenbaugh, 88, of Dayton, PA, formerly of Warren, PA, went to be with her heavenly father on Monday, March 12, 2018, at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

She was born September 10, 1929 in Jefferson County, PA to Harry and Crete (Gahagen) Hollenbaugh.

Lenore was a member of the Dayton United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and belonged to the United Methodist Women, the Builders Sunday School Class, and Ladies’ Day Out. She was also active in the Dayton Senior Center. She was previously employed as a factory worker with Brookville Sylvania and retired from Warren Verizon. An avid amateur photographer, Lenore took great pleasure in her many photos and was a member of the Brookville Camera Club. She enjoyed traveling and visited all of the states within the US except for five. She compiled three programs featuring her works of photography and poetry, titled “This God’s Creation,” “I Believe,” and “Our Heritage,” which were presented to local churches and organizations. Lenore devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, and her greatest joy came from her family and the time they spent together.

She is survived by her brother, Blaine Hollenbaugh, of Dayton, PA, and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and dear friend, Murlin Bearfield.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Dayton United Methodist Church, 105 E. Church Street, Dayton, PA with her pastor, the Rev. Dennis Howard, officiating.
