Phyllis Henry

Phyllis G. Henry, 96, of Highland Avenue, Youngsville, PA, passed away on March 21, 2018 at Cambridge Warren.

She was born on September 28, 1921 in Youngsville, PA, the daughter of the late Ralph and Rose Finlin Sullivan.

Phyllis was raised and educated in Youngsville area and graduated from Youngsville High School in 1943. She worked at New Process in her younger years.

She was an active member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church. Phyllis had been a member since she was fifteen years old. She was in charge of preparing funeral dinners for other families.

Phyllis was an avid knitter. Her main priority was raising and caring for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by two sons: Allen (Debra) Henry and Ralph (Amy) Henry; one brother: Clarence (Violet) Sullivan and two sisters: Edna Caldwell formerly of Youngsville, PA and Hazel Taydus of Youngsville, PA; five grandchildren: Christopher (Shannon) Henry, Kyle (Miranda) Henry, Tom Henry, Michael Henry and Rebecca Henry; Five great grandchildren: Allison, Mason, Victoria, Katie and Genevieve Henry; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Henry whom she married on April 10, 1954 at the Evangelical Brother Church (Evangelical Methodist Church) who died on September 11, 2001; four brothers: Ralph, Maynard, Willis and Jerry Sullivan; three sisters: Myrtle Darling, Henrietta Voty and Viola Walters.

Phyllis’s family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Warren County, 2 W. Crescent Park, Warren, PA 16365 or to the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 18 2nd Street, Youngsville, PA 16371.

Family and Friends may call at McKinney Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 54 West Main Street, Youngsville on Monday from 24 and 68 PM. A funeral service will be held there on Tuesday at 11 AM. Rev. Ricky D. Nelson, pastor of Evangelical and First United Methodist Churches of Youngsville will officiate. Burial will be in Youngsville Cemetery, Youngsville, PA.
