Ronald Myers

Ronald L. Myers, 84, of Main Street, East Randolph, passed away Thursday, (February 1, 2018) in the UPMC Chautauqua – WCA Hospital.

He was born April 30, 1933 in Clarion, Pa. the son of the late Harry A. and Lenora V. (Schattenburg) Myers.

Ron was a 1951 graduate of Chula Vista High School near San Diego, California and went on to serve his country as a Veteran of the United States Army. He served during the Korean War Era, from March 25, 1953 to January 13, 1955.

Ron and wife Mary came to Randolph, where they owned & operated Myers Oil from July 1, 1965 until it was sold to Campbell Oil on June 1, 1983. They had jointly owned and operated

The former Montgomery Ward Agency in Falconer from 19821986. Ron was a school bus driver for Randolph Central School for 34 years, retiring in 2003.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Randolph, where he was an Elder. His current memberships include, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Randolph American Legion Post 181, Mt. Sinai Mecca Chapter 132 Order of the Eastern Star, Mt. Moriah Lodge 145 Free and Accepted Masons.

Ron was a former member of the Randolph Lions Club, serving as club President in 1968, East Randolph Fire Department, Past District Grand Lecturer of Cattaraugus District Order of Eastern Star, Past Master of the Randolph Lodge 359 Free and Accepted Mason’s in 1972, Randolph Fidelity Chapter 239 Order of Eastern Star and the Falconer Rotary Club. Ron enjoyed bowling, golfing, NASCAR and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Mary L. Hutto Myers, whom he married on June 27, 1959 in Chula Vista, CA., four children; Twins sons, Bruce (Kelly) Myers of Jamestown and William Myers of Binghamton, NY, David Myers of Randolph and Karen (Charles) Russell of Frewsburg.

He is additionally survived by five grandchildren; Aaron Myers of Palm Harbor, FL., Corey (Vicki) Myers of Frewsburg, Colin (Sarah) Myers of Jamestown, Allison and Heather Russell of Frewsburg, two great-grandchildren, Brea and Avery Myers and one on the way, Baby Cora.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday (February 27, 2018) in the Randolph United Presbyterian Church. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service. There will be a Masonic and Order of Eastern Star service at the start of the Celebration at 11:00 A.M and will end with full Military Honors conducted by the Randolph American Legion Post 181. Pastor PJ Pasieka and Rev. Leslie Latham will officiate. Inurnment will be in the East Randolph Cemetery.
