Louis Franklin

Louis A. Franklin, 90, formerly of 375 East Main St., Bradford, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017, at Bradford Ecumenical Home.

Born October 14,1926 in Bradford, he was a son of the late Horace G. and Florence Fern (Jewel) Franklin. Lou was a 1944 graduate of Youngsville High School.

Mr. Franklin served in the United States Army during WWII in the Philippines and Japan, he was honorably discharged.

On February 17, 1950 in Tidioute, he married Judith A. (Dove) Franklin who survives.

Lou was a self-employed Insurance Salesman for Nationwide Insurance Company in East Bradford, for over 30 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife Judy of 67 years, is one daughter, Kathleen Franklin, of Houston TX, one son, Jeffrey (Nora Miller) Franklin, of Bradford, 5 grandchildren Danielle (Bryan) Ubnoski, Allison (Colin) Maddox, Laura (Steve) Current, Louis (Susan Stucky) Franklin, Kristin Franklin, 5 great grandchildren, Caleb Ubnoski, Audrey Ubnoski, Ella-Riley Currant, Ethan Current, Lennox Franklin, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Gregory L. Franklin, 7 brothers Kenneth, Harold, Robert, Benjamin, Paul, Edward, James Franklin, two sisters Margaret Peterson, and Theo Houghton.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 11:00am to Noon in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main St., where funeral and committal services will be held at Noon with Rev. Raymond Gramata, Pastor of St. Bernard Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
