Barbara Chester

Barbara J. Chester, 90, of Warren, PA., died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at her residence.  She was born April 8, 1926, to the late Margaret Wilson Chester who died in 1998 and Ralph M. Chester who died in 1983.  She was a graduate of Warren High School in 1944.  She was employed by Walker Creamery Products for 6 years and Sylvania Electric Products and G.T.E. Sylvania for 33 years, retiring in 1983.  Barbara was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Warren Senior Center, Allegheny Outdoor Club and Riverside Senior Bowling League.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Elizabeth “Pat” Chester in 1972 and 2 brothers in infancy.

She is survived by her sister, Joanne I. Chester of Warren, PA., and several cousins, including Susan (Michael) W. Zaprowski of Salamanca, N.Y., William (Susan) M. Wilson of Scandia, PA.

There will be no visitation hours and a private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family by Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Rouse Warren County Home, officiating.  Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers, Barb requests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund or to a charity of one’s choice.  Email condolences may be sent by visiting www.lewisfuneral homeinc.com.
