A 14-year-old girl last seen leaving Sheffield High School on April 8 was found in New York State Sunday morning.

Troopers said in an update posted late Sunday night that the Cuba, NY police department and New York State Police found Latesia Rae Pierce, 14, and said “she has been turned over to the care of Children and Youth Service of Pennsylvania.”

Police said in a statement late Saturday night that they have received a report “of a juvenile runaway.”

Pierce was “reported to have contacted a white male between the age of 17-21 years old via social media,” police said. “She was last seen leaving Sheffield High School entering a black… Honda Accord with multiple stickers on the rear of the vehicle and an unknown New York registration.”
