“Retired City of Warren Fire Chief Frank Viola has answered his final alarm and has been called home.”

“Chief Viola faithfully served the City of Warren for 15 years and shall not be forgotten.”

Frank Viola Jr. died Friday, Sept. 4. He was 85 years old.

Viola served as the City of Warren Fire Department Chief from 1976 to 1991.

On Tuesday, a funeral procession brought Viola from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, where he was a member, past the City of Warren Fire Department.

Department personnel stood at attention as he was carried under the processional flag by a 1928 American LaFrance Ladder Truck.

The flag was held aloft over Third Avenue by the City of Warren tower truck and the City of Corry aerial truck.

The department wished special thanks to the City of Corry Department for helping to honor the chief.

“Rest easy Chief Viola. We shall take it from here.”
