Pleasant township to have a clean-up day August 22

PLEASANT — Pleasant township will have a clean-up day from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Pleasant Township municipal building, 8 Chari Lane.

Fees will be $10 per car, $15 per pick-up truck and anything bigger will cost $25. Driver’s licenses will be checked to verify township residency.

Prohibited items will include household garbage, shingles or similar roofing materials, tires, hazardous materials including chemicals, biohazards, paints, thinners and electronics.

Car batteries, scrap metals and used motor oil are acceptable and will be collected separately. All gases and chemicals must be removed from refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers. The Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department will help and accept donations for the department.

Pleasant township is also no longer offering recycling after Aug. 10 due to the cost and misuse of recycling bins. Local garbage collection companies should be contacted to dispose of recycling materials.
